Competitors for hibernate

There are some competitors for Hibernate. Eg. OpenJPA, JPA , TOPLink. Hibernate was v.great frameworks in 2007. But now TOPLink backed by Oracle is good framework which can offer tough competition to Hibernate.

Though Hibernate is open source, its support is guaranteed by Red at, which also backs Jboss. But now even Hibernate is getting more and more JPA compliant. Eg. Hibernate 3.6 is completely JPA 2.0 compliant.
